A College Recruiter is eager to help — after all, they want you to consider their institution for ETE. There are a lot of questions you can ask the recruiter to get the ball rolling:

  • Is your school ABET accredited? (This is important to know because many employers and graduate schools prefer applicants who have earned a degree from an ABET-accredited program.)
  • How many credits will I have to take each semester?
  • How strong does my math and science background need to be?
  • What are the average SAT and ACT scores — and grades — of students in the program?
  • What are your computer, library and laboratory facilities like?
  • What academic approach does your college take — theoretical or practical?
  • Who teaches the majority of your courses — faculty members or graduate students?
  • What are some of the extracurricular activities available — especially in engineering-related fields?
  • How diverse is your student body?
  • What internship, co-op and summer employment programs are available?
  • Can you give me an overview of your institution's scholarship, grant and loan programs?
