There are a lot of great sources for information about ETE that are available to you. One good place to start is with your Guidance Counselor. He or she is there to help ... well, guide ... you through what can seem like a maze of decisions and opportunities. Not quite sure where to start when it comes to questions for your counselor? Here are a few to get you going:

  • What information do you have about ETE?
  • Where can I get more information about ETE?
  • Is my grade point average high enough to enter an engineering technology program?
  • What can I do to begin preparing for ETE?
  • Who in the community can provide information on a career as an engineering technologist?
  • Can you help set up appointments with college recruiters so I can get more information about their engineering technology programs?
  • Do you have any information about clubs that can help educate and prepare me for ETE?

One site to discuss with your counselor — or explore on your own — is www.jets.org. This Junior Engineering Technical Society website features competitions for individuals and teams, summer programs for minority students and more.
