There are a variety of conferences available that allow college and university administrators to come together to:

  • broaden their knowledge of engineering technology issues
  • discuss problems of management in an engineering technology environment
  • train for specific leadership roles
  • exchange ideas with fellow educators
  • share successes
  • meet with and learn from industrial leaders

One such conference is the annual Engineering Technology Leadership Institute. Visit www.asee.org to learn more about events relating to engineering technology education.

Keep in mind that the ASEE and its IMETE team are working hard to bring information about this awareness-building program to colleges and universities throughout the country — including other institutions of higher learning in your area. Consider joining with another local college or university to present an "ETE Fair" for local high schools, or perhaps sharing an advertisement using the program and newspaper ads included in the IMETE program. There's strength in numbers; and with the goal to get the word out about ETE, you and other College Recruiters can make a substantial impact in building awareness about engineering technology education — and everybody wins!
